Diné College Rodeo Team Kicks Off Fall 2025 With Strong Performance in Duncan, Arizona

DUNCAN, Ariz., September 20, 2025 – The Diné College Rodeo Team opened its Fall 2025 season at the Grand Canyon Regional #1 rodeo with an impressive showing. Twelve student-athletes traveled to Duncan, Arizona, competing in the first event of the semester. The roster included both newcomers and returning competitors.

During the two-day competition, Dean Holyan and Tyler Twister Jim reached the short round finals. Holyan stood out by winning the tie-down roping event, finishing with a time of 9.07 seconds. The coach praised the student-athletes for their efforts and achievements. “The team did good,” Coach Edward Holyan said. “I am confident that the team will do great academically and athletically throughout the Fall 2025 Semester.”

The Diné College Rodeo Team now prepares for its next event in Douglas, Arizona, where they will compete in the second competition of the Grand Canyon region, scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
