STAT SHEET:

Aaliyah Jones (Rapid City, S.D.): 30 PTS, 7 REB, 6 STL

Aweng Akoi (Sioux Falls, S.D.): 14 PTS, 13 REB, 2 BLK

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Matt Svehla on the showdown with the Bulldogs:

“Concordia is a good basketball team,” Svehla said. “I thought that they played and executed a style of basketball that we did not always defend as well as we could have and should have. They had some good shots, and they spread you out. You would think that if we scored 81 points we would come out on top, which on the positive side was good to see us put some points on the board. We have to sure up the defensive end and get better for the next time out.”

Svehla on getting ready to play Southeast on the road Wednesday:

“We will work on some things that gave us problems tonight and will try and clean some things up,” Svehla said. “It’s important to keep the girls positive. It’s a long season and we can’t get too high or too low. We have to improve when we have opportunities to do so.”
