LAWRENCE, Kan. — MorningRain Honani scored 29 points, but Haskell fell 78-70 to Sterling on Saturday at Coffin Sports Complex. Honani shot 10-of-18 from the field, 5-of-9 from three-point range and 4-of-4 at the free-throw line, adding three rebounds and five assists while playing all 40 minutes.
Sterling took control early, outscoring Haskell 28-11 in the first quarter. The Indians fought back in the second, winning the frame 23-20 to trim the deficit to 48-34 at halftime.

She is now averaging 27.3 points through three games after earning the Continental Athletic Conference’s first Offensive Player of the Week award of the season.
