Montana Western led 41-39 with 10 minutes to play, pushed the lead to seven early in the fourth quarter, and held on after LC State tied the game at 49 with two minutes left. Bailee Sayler’s three clutch free throws down the stretch sealed the three-point win for the Bulldogs.
Wallace led the Warriors in scoring, followed by Tatum Brager with 11 points. Grace Beardin posted a team-high 10 rebounds and a game-high five steals, and Darian Herring dished out a team-best three assists with four blocks — becoming LC State’s all-time blocks leader in the process.
LC State shot just 27.9 percent (19-of-68) from the floor in the loss, which drops the Warriors to 0-2 on the young season. Montana Western improved to 3-0. LC State returns home for its nonconference tournaments before Cascade Conference play opens Dec. 4-5. Sources:
