(Lawrence, Kansas) – Haskell Indian Nations University pulled away late to earn a 94–77 victory over Arkansas Baptist College on the strength of a fast start, balanced scoring, and a decisive fourth quarter.
Haskell seized control early, racing out to a 34–21 lead after the first quarter behind crisp ball movement and perimeter shooting. Ona Dauphinais sparked the opening surge with an early three, while Angela Astorga and Ivy Fox finished consistently inside as the Lady Indians built momentum. The advantage held into halftime, with Haskell leading 45–43 after Arkansas Baptist trimmed the margin late in the second.
The third quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle. Arkansas Baptist briefly tied the game at 50–50 and again at 55–55, but Haskell responded with timely baskets from Dauphinais, Fox, and Trinity Wheeler. A late flurry pushed the Lady Indians back in front 66–58 heading into the fourth.
Haskell closed the door in the final period with defensive pressure and efficient offense. The Lady Indians opened the quarter with a quick run, stretched the lead to double digits, and never looked back. Jazlynn Nosie and Tierzah Penn helped control the tempo, while Astorga and Dauphinais continued to convert in the paint. Haskell outscored Arkansas Baptist 28–19 in the fourth to secure the win.
Dauphinais led the way offensively with a strong all-around performance that included multiple three-pointers and key assists. Fox added consistent scoring and rebounds, while Astorga provided a big presence inside on both ends. The Lady Indians’ depth and ball movement proved too much down the stretch as they finished off a convincing home victory.
