CRESTON, Iowa – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team was back in action after the completion of winter break for a conference showdown with Southwestern Community College Wednesday night in Creston, Iowa. The Hawks took down the Spartans by a final score of 77-40.
The Hawks (10-4, 5-3 ICCAC) jumped out to a quick 13-0 lead in the matchup and never looked back as Northeast picked up their third-straight win in the contest. Aaliyah Jones (Rapid City, S.D.) scored 18 points and Lexi Wiebelhaus (Crofton, Neb.) recorded 12 points as the Hawks will host a huge ballgame on their home floor next against No. 3 Kirkwood Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
