by Colorado Springs, Colorado – New Mexico Highlands women’s basketball earned 117 points and was tabbed for an 8th place finish in the 2025-26 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll that was released today by the conference. The poll is voted on by the 15 basketball coaches in the conference.
The Cowgirls were 13-14 overall and 10-10 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play a year ago as they advanced to the conference playoffs for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
Sophomore guard Kapiolani Anitielu, the 2024-25 RMAC Freshman of the Year, was named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team. Anitielu averaged 16.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game as a freshman last season.
