STILLWATER – Oklahoma State’s Stailee Heard was unanimously selected as a member of the All-Big 12 Women’s Basketball Preseason Team with the announcement of the league’s preseason awards today.
Additionally, the Cowgirls were picked to finish fourth in the league’s preseason coaches’ poll. In its fourth season under head coach Jacie Hoyt, OSU is coming off a record-setting season that saw the Cowgirls post a 25-7 mark and earn their second NCAA berth in three seasons under her direction.
OSU garnered 186 points, including two first-place votes to stand fourth. Baylor was third with 200 points, Iowa State was second at 202 and TCU was first with 10 first-place votes and 219 points.
League head coaches voted on the honors and were not allowed to vote for their own team.
Entering her junior campaign, Heard is coming off a season in which she earned honorable mention All-America status and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection. Additionally, she was named to the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year Midseason Watch List.
A native of Sapulpa, Okla., she averaged 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds over 32 contests.
This past summer, Heard was invited to participate at the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team Trials and also played this past spring with teammates Faith AckerMicah Gray and Jadyn Wooten at USA Basketball 3X Nationals.
Heard and the Cowgirls recently checked in at No. 22 in ESPN.com’s Preseason Top 25 and will get their season underway on Oct. 28 with an exhibition contest against Oklahoma Christian in Stillwater.
