United Tribes Technical College Thunderbird Men’s Basketball Team race out to a 13-3 record at mid-point of the season

UTTC FINISHES FIRST HALF OF SEASON 13-3

With the first half of the season complete there is much excitement and anticipation around the United Tribes Technical College Thunderbird Men’s Basketball Team.  The 2017-2018 team has mixed in some key returners with a solid group of newcomers to race out to a 13-3 record.  The teams three losses this year have all been to the undefeated and 10th ranked team in the nation Gillette College.  The Thunderbirds are again scoring at a prolific pace and are second in the nation in scoring at over 105 points per game and leading the nation with 29 assists per game.

The excitement and play this season for United Tribes hasn’t happened by accident and is a credit to the players coming together.  UTTC’s current roster includes 12 players from Arizona, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

The Thunderbirds first game of 2018 will be at home tomorrow night on January 5th at 7:30 PM against Fort Peck College.

 

NATIONAL ATTENTION

UTTC’s play has placed it amongst the nation’s leaders in several categories.

· Second in Points Per Game — 105 points /game

· First in Assists Per Game — 29/game

· Third in Rebounds Per Game — 50/game

· Sam Pendleton leads the nation with 9.8 assists per game
