Schimmel Sisters, Shoni and Jude, Join Disrupt the Game Management Agency

Press Release

Disrupt The Game is beyond thrilled to announce our newest clients, sisters Shoni and Jude Schimmel. The Schimmel sisters, who belong to the confederated Tribes of the Umatilla in eastern Oregon, starred together on the University of Louisville basketball team. Shoni graduated Louisville in 2014 and went on to be selected 8th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft to the Atlanta Dream, becoming the first-ever Native American to be selected in the first round. The two-time WNBA All-Star and 2014 All-Star MVP, Shoni is a point guard/shooting guard with incredible skills and an entertaining, flashy game. Jude, a 5’6” point guard, finished her college career with an impressive 711 career points, 221 steals, and a team-leading 392 assists during that span. Beyond her accolades on the court, Jude has recently released her autobiography “Dreamcatcher”, which tells the story of her upbringing on a reservation, successes, and development on and off the court.

  1. Great! Shoni needs someone to advocate for her playing as the Dream team is not utilizing her to the fullest. She’s a star and needs to shine brightly. Go Native Sister.

  2. Thank you Shoni and Jude for the inspiration you have shown the youth of Yakama Nation and all nations. Our granddaughters and nieces look up to you for guidance and support!! Dreams do come true, through education and determination!! Following the right path and not falling into what society expects of Native girls and women!! Thank you and blessings on all your endeavors!! Your pictures are on our Native Bulletin Board @Glenwood Schools, Yakama Nation!
