COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Oklahoma State’s women’s basketball team will be well represented next month when play gets underway at the USA Basketball 3X Nationals it was announced today.
Rising junior Stailee Heard will be joined by rising senior Micah Gray, rising sophomore Jadyn Wooten and Cowgirl newcomer Faith Acker at the event, which will be contested May 2-4 at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Arizona.
The tournament will feature up to eight men’s and 16 women’s teams, including some of the best 3×3 players in the country, vying for national titles.
3X Nationals will tip off May 2 with preliminary round men’s and women’s games and will continue through Sunday’s medal round games. Teams will be seeded based on preliminary records before entering bracket play. Game action is set to stream live on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube.com/USABasketball.
3X Nationals is free and open to the public.
An impressive lineup of teams is expected to take the halfcourt in Mesa, including NCAA Division I women’s programs Fairfield University, University of Florida, James Madison University, Oklahoma State University, University of Richmond, University of South Carolina, South Dakota State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, TCU and Vanderbilt University in addition to 3×3 pro team 3XBA and independent Team Phoenix. The men’s field is highlighted by 3×3 pro teams Los Angeles, Team Miami, O’City Cage, Team Orlando and Team Phoenix.
3X Nationals will serve as an evaluation for selection to various future USA Basketball 3×3 men’s and women’s national teams, including the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, set for June 23-29 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and roster spots for USA Basketball 3×3 World Tour, 3×3 Women’s Series, 3×3 U23 Nations League and 3×3 U23 World Cup teams.
Played on a half court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock, the first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.
