by KENNESAW, Ga. – Texas Tech women’s golf carded a day one 583 (one-over) to hold a 19-stroke lead over the rest of the field at the 2016 Henssler Financial Intercollegiate at the Pinetree Country Club.
The Lady Raider finished the day seven over par and 19-strokes ahead of Illinois and No. 34 Augusta who finished in a tie for second with a combined 602 through the first two rounds of play.
Texas Tech had a great showing in the individual standings through day one with five of six Lady Raiders who competed in the event finishing in the top-10. Sophomore Gabby Barker (Shoshone-Paiute) finished with a two round 143 (one-under) to lead the field. Lauren Mason finished day one with a two round 145 to finish in second place.
Senior’s Sarah Brown and Kimmy Hill checked in with a 147 (fourth-place) and 150 (tied for eighth place) while freshman Mami Yamamoto finished day one with 149 (five-over) to be tied for sixth heading into round three.
