Lyle Thompson (Onondaga Nation) Honored as USILA Most Outstanding Player for Second-Straight Season

PERRY, N.Y. – UAlbany senior attackman Lyle Thompson (Onondaga Nation) has earned the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award for Most Outstanding Player, given by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).

It is the second year-running that Thompson has been chosen for the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award.  In total, Thompson has won four USILA major awards, including earning the Lt. Col. Jack Turnbull Award for Most Outstanding Attackman in 2013 and 2014.

Thompson, one of five Tewaaraton finalists, finished the 2015 season with the second highest scoring year in Division I history with 121 points off 52 goals and 69 assists.  He leads all of DI with 6.39 points per game and 3.63 assists per game and scored multiple points in all 19 UAlbany games this season.

Being named a USILA First Team All-American on Thursday, Thompson adds to his award list this season, including America East Player of the Year, America East All-Conference First Team, Inside Lacrossemidseason All-American and Lacrosse Magazine midseason All-American.  He also set new Division I scoring records with 400 points and 225 assists in his career.

He is on pace to finish as the DI leader in points per game for the third-consecutive season.
